This blog is a catalog of questions about Lake Champlain that have been asked by guests to our Lake Champlain Basin Program (LCBP) Resource Room since it opened in 2003. Since then, we’ve recorded hundereds of questions, some of which are posted here. We will continue to post them overtime as new questions arise (and as we have a chance to review our logs of questions). We’ve done our best to include links to more information where possible. Please feel free to contact us with additional questions or information.
About the Resource Room:
The LCBP and ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center at the Leahy Center for Lake Champlain are natural partners. ECHO is an exciting lake aquarium and science center on Burlington’s waterfront. The LCBP has been working to solve important Lake Champlain issues like water pollution and exotic species for a decade.
The LCBP staffs and operates a Resource Room within the Leahy Center for Lake Champlain (top floor of ECHO) that features exhibits, hands-on activities, computer stations, a library of Lake and Basin information, educator resources, technical documents, and more. We will assist anyone with a question about or interest in Lake Champlain.
The LCBP’s Resource Room is open the same hours as ECHO: 10am to 5pm daily, (check ECHO website for Winter Hours: November – March). Free Resource Room passes (does not include admission to ECHO) are available to visit the room for research. To obtain one, call the Resource Room in advance to schedule an appointment at (802) 864-1848 ext. 109.
